Hulk Hogan “Betting the Farm” on John Cena at “SummerSlam”

on

At WWE’s biggest event of the summer, “SummerSlam,” WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will put his title on the line against Brock Lesnar. For Lesnar, it will be his first match since ending The Undertaker’s historic undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

On the Aug. 11 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” the two had their first and only confrontation in the build to the match. During Hulk Hogan’s birthday celebration, the closing segment of the show, Lesnar attempted to ruin the night, as Hogan and many other past legends were in Lesnar’s “home.” However, the plans of Lesnar and his manager Paul Heyman were foiled by John Cena, who entered to make the save. The two would not come to blows, as Lesnar exited the ring and made his way up the entrance ramp.

Three days after “Raw,” on Thursday, Aug. 14, Hulk Hogan had some interesting comments in regards to the match, claiming he is “betting the farm” on John Cena. The comments came through his Twitter account, as he replied to a tweet from Brooklyn Brawler:

Since Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE in 2012, this will be the second time the two have clashed. At the 2012 edition of “Extreme Rules,” in Lesnar’s first match for WWE in more than eight years, he lost to Cena in an Extreme Rules match.

Editor’s Note

Hogan may have to rethink that one. Though, Cena should not be ruled out to win this match.

you realize the decision is predetermined and its already been done

      • J. Cruyff

I’m sick of people saying the same shit. Everyone knows by now that everything in the WWE is predetermined.
What I said was a famous quote that a fan had on his poster back when Cena faced RVD at ECW One Night Stand.

Lmao quit acting like its real then and what ever you do dont cry

As it makes sense for Lesner to win. Dosent his schedule come into play when booking? I see Lesner completely destroying Cena and possibly getting DQ and Seth Rollins cashes in. But who knows. I know they stripped DB because of injury but Lesner schedule isn’t fit for a champion either

Well said no belts for part timers

I respect Lesnar as an athlete and as a competitor. I also understand why a portion of the crowd and an overwhelming majority of the IWC doesn’t like Cena. That being said, I hope Cena wins this match. It wasn’t right for Lesnar to beat the streak, and it’s not right for him to hold the championship. I’ve always loved The Rock, but I didn’t like the fact that he was champion last year. Whether you like Cena or not, you have to respect the man’s dedication to the business and to the fans. Even though some fans chant “you can’t wrestle”, we need to all realize that neither could Hogan, Warrior, Andre, Earthquake, Lex Luger, and many other stars of the Golden Era. But that era is considered by some to be the best era of professional wrestling. John Cena has respect for the business and those who came before him. Lesnar does not have respect for any of that. He doesn’t deserve to be champion. There are probably 6 or 7 more deserving superstars in the WWE locker room of holding the belt rather than Cena, but Lesnar is not one of them. I will most certainly be rooting for Cena this Sunday (and I’ll more than likely be pissed off at the end when Lesnar beats him).

Well of course Cena is going to win! I fucking hate the idea of it but come on they’re going to keep letting cena win cause he’s a good guy. Ugh. Lesnar needs to beat him but knowing the WWE their stupid asses are going to let cena win again hopefully Seth cashes it in I mean I hate him too but at least it won’t be cena anymore.

So hogan you’re betting the downfall of WWE pretty much.

As he has probably been told the result, by the story line writer,I believe him.

I think like sniperv1 said, Lesnar beats the holy crap out of Cena and gets disqualified, leaing him in a heap, and Rollins runs in with the briefcase for the easy pin!! Now we have Rollins as a new champ with all the new fueds he can have and Cena vs Lesnar III will likely happen at the next PPV where Cena wins. It allows Lesnar to still be the beast without putting the title on him, and sets up a good grudge match for him and Cena

          • Ken Kuhlman

you just showed your total immaturity I only said I did not understand the dislike of Cena and I stated that its all fake anyway Cena does exactly what Vince McMahon tells him to do Vince says win he wins Vince says loose he looses get it

        • Mike Rotch

Right! This guy is a 70yo fanboy being a keyboard bully. SUCK IT Ken!

      • Mike Rotch

Clearly you don’t understand much, Punk made Vince money. Last time I checked that was the goal. Now it’s Lesnar’s turn to be the cash cow. Cena had his day, yeah he is good for the corporate image with all the charity work and all but no longer the fan favorite it seems

        • Ken Kuhlman

I dont doubt Punk made Money Mike I just dont understand why. Why are you calling me a keyboard bully Buster started in on me and I am way before the 70’s LMAO
