Fans Create Twitter Accounts Aimed at Highjacking “RAW” Until WrestleMania XXX

raw_crowd

The state of the WWE Universe is unsettling. Supporters of the WWE product have been lashing out over the last few months, because it seems like WWE officials are not “listening” to them. After months (some would say years) of wanting to see stars such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan achieve main event and WWE Championship status, it seems like the company doesn’t trust the superstars that the WWE Universe have been lobbying for with carrying the company into the future.

Honestly, this group of fans wants to see the talent that has been atop of the WWE for years, such as John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, The Rock, and Triple H, replaced by new faces. They believe that they helped push CM Punk and Daniel Bryan into these positions, but now feel like WWE officials, namely Vince McMahon and Triple H, are trying to prevent this evolution from taking place.

This state of unrest in the WWE Universe has pushed some WWE fans to create Twitter accounts aimed at highjacking “RAW” until WrestleMania XXX. Bryan has been the “underdog” that everyone is routing for on WWE programming since the summer of 2013. Fans have been organically creating a main event player out of the company’s resident “YES” man over the past year, just as they did with CM Punk in 2011, and want to see him be crowned champion on April 6 in New Orleans. However, with the current card line-up for WrestleMania being revealed, they do not believe that they will see the payoff from their “hard work” and believe Bryan will miss out on the WrestleMania moment that has been seemingly created for him.

When the WWE Universe got behind Punk in 2011, he was awarded a top spot in the company and the WWE Championship for 434 days. However, even though he was WWE Champion, both Punk and this selection of WWE fans felt that he was not fully trusted as a main even guy, due to other stars such as Cena, Orton, and the Rock getting top billing on the event cards above him. Now, the year and the superstar may have changed, but the fans are pushing Daniel Bryan to the moon and they feel like the WWE is simply just not listening.

CM Punk reportedly walked out on the company on Jan. 27 due to some of these frustrations. Punk revealed his thoughts on the company’s current product and management on Jan. 24, saying he feels like WWE management isn’t listening to the people, that WWE Creative is sloppy and inconsistent, that returning stars such as Bastista shouldn’t be awarded a title shot immediately after coming back from a four year vacation, and that this is the year of Daniel Bryan, not Batista and Randy Orton.

Punk openly expressed similar frustrations with the company after WWE officials brought The Rock back to the company in 2013, solely to take the WWE Championship off of CM Punk just before WrestleMania 29 in order to build towards a John Cena vs. The Rock title match at the event. Punk has been silent since his departure from the company in late January and has been removed from all upcoming WWE appearances that he was scheduled for.

While McMahon described Punk’s absence as a “sabbatical,” rumor has it that Punk did legitimately leave and will not be returning before WrestleMania XXX. With the level of news and information that spreads throughout the community of wrestling fans on the internet, portions of the WWE Universe are wise to why Punk supposedly left the company, and they believe it’s because he feels the same way that they do. This belief? That part-time workers that have been gone for years-on-end should not return and ruin the chances of the fans’ favorite underdog achieving his “boy hood dreams,” overcoming the odds, and winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

This portion of “smart” fans have been arriving to arenas for WWE broadcasts with signs for Daniel Bryan and CM Punk since he began his “sabbatical.” They have also been creating a ruckus at events by “highjacking” the shows with chants and boos directed towards the talent they love and hate. With Daniel Bryan, fans have been waiting for his WrestleMania moment to be him winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, especially following his summer of achieving the title twice only to be screwed out of it both times. So, fans chant for Daniel Bryan and give him the most love night-after-night.

With CM Punk, this select group of fans just want to see him return. They believe that he left because he was sick of the same exact issues with the company “they have,” so they chant “CM PUNK” at shows in order to show their support for the Second City Saint. Recent “highjacked” shows have seen fans boo throughout matches featuring Batista, John Cena, and Randy Orton (who is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, because they are not the superstars that the fans want to see main eventing shows and competing for the title.

Batista returned to the company in January, just in time to be handed the number one contenders position through a Royal Rumble victory (which fans were wanting for Daniel Bryan). Now, Batista will face Randy Orton for the championship at WrestleMania XXX, which is exactly the opposite of what the fans want to see. The fans want Bryan to win the championship at the event, as you can see through the fan response to both Batist and Bryan over the last two months.

Batista has been booed so consistently, that the company had to turn him “heel” due to the reaction of the WWE Universe. Now, after realizing that Punk is gone, Bryan will not be competing in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania, and Batista will be likely winning the title on April 6, fans are trying to lead a revolt against the company.

Fans have created Twitter accounts for each Monday night leading up to WrestleMania XXX, which are literally designed to get all of their followers, especially those that will be in attendance for these shows, to “highjack” the events. The first account, @ChicagoRAWCrowd, was created on Feb. 26, just two days after it was revealed that the main event at WrestleMania XXX would in fact be Batista vs. Randy Orton in a singles match for the title. “Monday Night Raw” will be held in Chicago on March 3, and this account is asking for the fans that attend to “turn their backs on the WWE, since they’ve turned a blind-eye to their fans.”

As we previously reported, the company is nervous about how the March 3 edition of “Monday Night Raw” is going to play out. CM Punk is a native of Chicago, and the usually rambunctious crowd will likely chant his name throughout the night if he doesn’t appear, or isn’t addressed, on the program. WWE has already promoted a rematch between the Shield and the Wyatt family, an altercation between Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker, and a possible Hulk Hogan appearance for the show, but fans are not going to be happy unless they start getting what they want.

The twitter account @ChicagoRAWCrowd, which already has  tweets,

It seems as if this portion of the WWE Universe would stop their campaign if they were given the match that they have been waiting for at WrestleMania XXX. Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Other accounts such as this one have been created for the following weeks leading up to April 6, including @MemphisRAWCrowd and @BklynRAWCrowd.

These accounts claim that they are being the voice of the voiceless, but probably won’t make a difference in the long run. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe has spoken. They are unhappy with what they’re being forced to “enjoy.”

I must go on record in saying this: I, Doug McDonald, have watched wrestling for 22 years. I’ve seen it during bad times and amazing times. I’m a fan of the craft, of the business. And while I may not be completely satisfied with everything I’m being presented with right now, I do still love wrestling. Patience will go a LONG way with fans today. I do agree with some chants that have been used to highjack shows lately, and I will not enjoy a singles match between Batista and Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, BUT…

If you, the WWE Universe, want to REALLY make a statement to the WWE? You REALLY want to force their hand and get them to start listening to you? Take your remote control, turn on your TV, but NEVER turn on a WWE program again. DON’T. WATCH. THE PRODUCT. Then, they’ll listen. No viewers makes a greater statement than a couple of crowds chanting some names during a show.

If the wrestling fans were smart they would not show up at these arenas …no money for Vince would change a lot of things….. But no one had the balls to keep the arenas empty cause they think they will miss something

    • Bharti Butcher

exactly, chanting want help hit em where it hurt’s, Money. No Crowd and zero rating, will do a better Job.

    • Red Blackbear

      YES! YES! YES! Hell YES!!!!!!

  • George Hook

I also feel that AJ Lee has been relegated to a sort of purgatory in WWE, when she should be getting bigger push. She’s not a “Total Diva” so she’s obviously been told to sell that pack (witness her defeat at the hands of the inferior Cameron in the recent pay per view) in exchange for keeping the belt (even though it’s always Snuka who is bailing her out in time-honored championship heel tradition). I’ve been disappointed in most of her appearances on Raw and Smackdown of late, and it’s getting old.

    • Derek Layne (Palmer, TN)

      AJ, is that you?

      • George Hook

Nobody here but us Shining Wizards.

    • Malena

It’s because there’s no one really to pit her against. Natalia is an awesome technician, but WWE screwed the pooch in character development with her, so she needs to stay off the radar for a while to allow that to be new again, Tamina is powerful, but I can’t see her keeping up with AJ-esque bombshells, and while everyone extolls the virtues of Paige, it seems like carrying a match is her real talent, and I question how well she will do when she’s no longer everyones top pick.

      • George Hook

Point well taken. I think AJ is basically a good soldier, and is not displeased to sell these women, so long as she keeps the belt.

  • JonathanCollins

Are these geeks really this pathetic? YES! YES! YES! See what happens when virgins reach 30 and still live at home?

    • Eliot Tirado

      Hahahaha, 100/100 comment.

    • Soylent Green Is People

You’re reading, and commenting, on an article about wrestling on the internet. Please post pics of all the hot girls you hang out with.

  • bonuslovethrsuter

should be the same kind of boycott that us dodger fans had to do in order for mlb to step in and force the sale of the team….we stopped going to games and putting money in the owners pocket, sadly it better start quick for vince to get the 411!

  • Fitness Rebates

The Chicago raw crowd def should be interesting almost makes me wanna tune in just to see their chants similar to last years crowd that started “Fandangoing”

  • Eliot Tirado

This is why for me the hardcore fans are not the smart fans. The casual fans are the smart one; if they don’t like it they simply don’t watch it.

    • Malena

Always keep in mind, there’s a difference between hardcore Punk/Bryan fans and hardcore wrestling fans. For real hardcore wrestling fans, it’s pretty easy to say screw the WWE and start watching any of the readily available internet wrestling shows. Not quite as frequent, but easy to access and supposedly what they want.

      • Eliot Tirado

        Yeah, that’s a good point.

  • Jack

Funny thing is they only consist of CM PUNK and Daniel B+ Bryan fans. What a pity!
They are the first to mock John Cena’s fanbase – call them fat virgins and 10 year old kids, but what DB/Punk marks doing right is nothing short of exposing their true nature.
Vince said it best:WWE fans dont know what they want. These pathetic geeks prove him right, time and again.
Seems this article proves,Punk & Bryan’s fanbase consist mainly of geeky virgins.

    • Diablo130356

      @ Jack::
Actually Jack I think it proves more that you, and others like you will just keep paying and smiling no matter what CRAP the great god WWE feeds you!
It’s high time WWE was shook up a bit and listened to all the fans who buy tickets and ppv’s to put money in their pockets. WWE has been going downhill for a long time and not even planning for its own future by continually using the same old faces at the top. They have become far too cocky because there is no real alternative wrestling company for most fans. They just do as they like, no matter how lazy or un creative creative can be.
I could easily just not watch RAW, I did for a while because I was sick of all the stupidity and dancing and constant talking but no action of it, but at the same time I actually want to see the Chicago crowd more than I want to see RAW itself. At least they are TRYING to do something positive to get fans listened to.
I just wish I was confident it could actually make a difference and turn WWE around a bit, because I REALLY don’t want to see Orton v Bootista for the WWEWHC belt at mania. It will not be a good match looking at today’s Bootista and he doesn’t deserve to waltz in as HHH’s mate and just take the belt, when there are many others much more deserving!

      • Eliot Tirado

It proves that he likes the product Cena, Sheamus, Orton, Batista(the real top stars), and even when those guys were not in the main event his fans(a huge fan base) were not crying and whining about it the way CM Punk and Bryan fan base do. The WWE is the responsable for that, they never should’ve let mid carders like Bryan and Punk win world championships because now their fans think that anyone could be champion; those losers can’t bring the numbers like the real top stars do.

        • Diablo130356

@ Elliot Tirado: It is painfully obvious you are talking out of your arse when you name Batista as a “real top star”. Maybe he was up there 4 years ago when he left but now no one wants to see him in the ring at all.
What are you twelve, thinking your super white heroes will go on forever. If you don’t want to see change for the better without PG and with younger fitter stars taking the place of Super Cena, and that SHADOW of what Batista once was when he was a proper wrestler, then you’re no true wrestling fan at all. Go back to reading your WWE comic until you know what your talking about!

          • Eliot Tirado

All i can see here is a whinner, if you think insulting me is gonna change that i am saying the truth you are delusional, i would never let a bunch of retards that can’t even change the channel when they see something they don’t like tell me who should i put in the main event of WM. You can say all the crap you want about Batista but the Truth is that 5 millions people tunned Raw to see his return, only the Rock could top it, the WWE is selling a real main event match between two top stars, if the fifth part of the 5 millions buy WM you have one million buys and that’s what Vince Mcmahon wants. Vince will not let CM Punk or Bryan headline WM just to please a bunch of streamers. Tha the only money they pay is the 50 bucks they pay for a ticket just to ruin the show. When i ask my friend to join me and watch WM the first thing the said: “Whoy is the champion, who is the main event?” i said: Randy Orton vs Batista; the said: “Awesome!!” If i would’ve said “Triple H vs Daniel Bryan” they would say “Who the hell is Daniel Bryan?” That’s what Vince Mcmahon doesn’t want to happen. Bryan is over,. but he doesn’t make money. You gust chanting stupid things are more over and interesting than him. At the end of the day he has nothing to offer, he is just a little guys screaming Yes.

    • Eliot Tirado

      That’s pretty much it.

    • Soylent Green Is People

If you think Daniel Bryan is just a B+ wrestler then I’m pretty sure you don’t understand what good wrestling is.

  • The GOAT VI

“Punk openly expressed similar frustrations with the company after WWE officials brought The Rock back to the company in 2013, solely to take the WWE Championship off of CM Punk”

No he didn’t. CM Punk was only champ for 434 days because The Rock was coming back, it was PLANNED just like WWE is, SCRIPTED and STAGED.

WWE were planning for Rock to beat Cena at WM28, Rock to win the title at the rumble and Cena vs Rock II for the title.

This is what cm punk HIMSELF said and I quote:

“I wasn’t really champion for 434 days, it’s not like I really won it. We’re all adults here; we all know that pro wrestling is predetermined. My only gripe, and it’s always interesting because I do so many of these interviews and my answers always change and of course people will just print like, ‘Punk mad that Rock is part time,’ whatever, this is a business.”

CM Punk is only mad because he didn’t main event WrestleMania.

Also, I love how when punk left, everyone started raging at WWE as if it was their fault that punk left.
What is it the Batista thing? Wasn’t Bryan the one that got screwed in this whole story? Is Punk Bryan’s advocate? father? husband?
People should be supporting bryan not punk.
The Royal Rumble crowd did just that.
Just like The Rock said in his 2013 return promo when he called out punk for being the “voice of the voiceless” and said that the people have a voice.
It’s such a shame how the Pittsburgh crowd hijacked the show for D-Bryan, the next week nobody remembered bryan because punk left, even chanted “CM Punk” during D-Bry match.
Nothing makes sense anymore, the IWC is just going full ret@rd

    • Eliot Tirado

      Yep, that’s pretty much it.

    • Screaming Time Wizard

I generally am an advocate of the typical iwc way of thinking, but even I see how silly this shit is. They shouldn’t be disrespectful to the people they have been supporting, I.e. Bryan, Wyatt, Shield, ECT.

Yea, boo, throw stuff, make a big ol’ ruckus, whatever, that’s very entertaining, just keep it to the literal garbage they try to show us with their chosen boys like Cena, Orton, Beeftista and similar ilk. If you do it during a quality Daniel Bryan match or a Cesaro match, you just look immature and easy to manipulate.

      The answer is #boycottwwe.

  • Anthony

Great so a crowd will ruin another show for people watching. Thanks guys. Go hang out with that horrendous green bay crowd.

  • DarkAksana

Chant whatever you want thats fine. Aslong as you pay for those tickets to get Inside the arena, nobody’s gonna have a problem.

  • Screaming Time Wizard

    # boycottwwe

Seriously, lets all agree to not go to those live shows. Imagine if they had an empty house at a few raws after this wrestlemania. Boycotts, historically, have been very effective when it comes to affecting real change.

Hijack this shit up to WM, only because tickets are already sold, then #boycottwwe Dont worry you can still see it online without giving them money…

  • Malena

I always find it amazing that people bitch so much about the WWE, and yet never bother to, say….stop watching. Or better yet, give your money to their competitors. Watch RoH, CZW, NJPW, NOAH, or hell, if you’re desperate, TNA. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS PEOPLE! Not only is it a case of you don’t have to buy the product, it’s a case of you can buy an even “better” product. Quit your bitchin’ and grow up already.

  • Attention please!

WWE thinks their opinion matter more than the fans. If their opinion matter more, than they will get less viewers. The IWC opinion matter more than the WWE’s. If they listen to are opinion, than WWE gets more viewers. If they stick to their opinion, they get less viewers. WWE thinks if they get part timers back they will get more viewers. Wrong, Batista for example, people didn’t mind him for a comeback. But they didn’t want him to win the royal rumble. So they booed him. The IWC wants fresh new talented full timers. Not part timers, If WWE want’s more viewers, they need to get rid of part timers, PG content and get rid of the WWE studio so creative team can focus more of wrestling. WWE brings in Hollywood stars because WWE wants to be “Hollywood Wrestling Blockbuster.” The Rock for example, he makes a lot of movies, which means he’s a Hollywood movie star. WWE brings a lot of Hollywood stars. And they think they will get more viewers if they bring in Hollywood stars. Wrong, it won’t work, Chris Jericho is a part timer, he likes to wrestle full timers because he wants to know if they have good wrestling skills. Other part timers for example, they go back to wrestling for the money and the spotlight. Selfish I tell you, other part timers are selfish. So WWE give us what we want. These fans are right, they will hijack Raw until Wrestlemania, if WWE sees what these fans write about on Twitter, WWE might listen if more fans join in the hijack. So let’s all hijack Raw until Wrestlemania, never know if WWE listens to us if we get more fans joining in.

    • delisionAskana

The Rock sold over 1 millons buys in the last 3 WM so YES he brought in more viewers. You dont know SHIT.

      • Attention please!

But the Rock vs Cena sucked. The Rock thinks he can go back and take the spotlight. Yeah WM 29 sold 1 million, The Rock should retire wresting and just do movies. You sir eat a shit and shit the shit and you’re brain became the shit.

  • Red Rowz

The reason D. Bryan isn’t in the main event is because the most important thing to Triple H is Triple H, and he wants a big match at ‘Mania 30. It was going to be against Punk, now he’s gone there’s no one big enough for him to face, other than Bryan.

  • Nawz Shitsu

In all Reality there The new school WWE Universe for this has to happen it is as The Deadman The Phenom The UnderTaker is The Last Outlaw of the ole school as everything is based upon the Streak as to say what’s good for business there is no new business until the finish of ole business is taken care of ask any of the fortune 500 Ceo Co.s or just email Donald trump and he can tell you the Rest.

  • derrick

I read most the posts and I will clear up something about the CM Punk/HHH that was going to happen at Wm30 before punk quit punk never wanted to face HHH at WM30 period in fact many people believe that the Punk vs HHH match is the real reason punk had quit WWE.

  • Janay

This is so stupid now. I understand wanting new faces at the top, but at the end of the day this is still a business. It’s about selling product and guys like Cena brings it in. I am not saying that Bryan can’t do it and I am confident that he will once he’s the Champ. Yes, listening to the your audience is very important and it does need to happen. I think the biggest issue right now is with creative, that is where you need to hire some new talent. Change all the titles around, create some new titles, sign some new wrestlers to company, and mix-up the feuds. Also, yes Triple H is the Co or whatever, but it’s stil Vince’s company and he get the final say in what happens. Now, the whole CM Punk walkout is getting old. I actually think it’s good for him to be gone for a while to heal up and rest. Also, I know everybody thinks WWE turned their back on him, but He walked away because he did not agree with something. Negotiations are a two way street…Okay he didn’t want to face Triple H at Mania, but it was to end a storyline that was probably thought and leading there all of those months prior i.e matches with the Shield and getting supe-rkicked by HBK. It was always the end result hell I saw it coming. Honestly, I don’t think boycotting is going to do anything. The best way to handle this situation is either if he is coming back, past June 2014 when his contract is up, than great, but if he is not than just return Monday say your goodbyes and move on. No offense CM Punk is not the whole company and the WWE will go on without him.

  • Will Tuckwell

you don’t have to watch wwe on tv there are plenty of online internet sites that don’t count as rating to wwe but you can still watch the show do that thats what i do and to wwe it will look like zero veiwers but in truth we can all watch how they react

  • Red Blackbear

That’s the only way to put a dint in Vinces pocket. No seats filled in arenas, no one watching the cable broadcasts, wwe network on internet. Rookeez is right nobody has the balls to make it happen.
Because the kids pressure the parents
to take them and won’t shut-up until their
    taken to the show.
