The comparison between NXT and WWE continues to be a hot topic for wrestling fans. Most of the fun of an NXT superstar come to the main roster from developmental is to see how they will match up with the current crop of WWE, especially when the roster is filled with former Indy stars like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and more.

Recently, WWE Hall of Fame Jim Ross updated the Q&A section of his blog to discuss some of the latest topics in wrestling. One such topic is the possibility of an NXT invasion of WWE. You can read all of what he has to say right here, but below is what JR had to say about an NXT invasion.

Would JR like to see an angle where NXT invades WWE?

“As in any fictional presentation it is all about crafting a believable story and then executing it. Therefore virtually any, not all, storyline can ‘get over’ if it’s within reason and is executed precisely. There are many ways to do something right within the world of pro wrestling.”

While an NXT invasion is a little intense for WWE, the possibility of an NXT vs. WWE crossover special could be very interesting. After the success of last year and the future success of NXT Takeover: Dallas, what if there was a crossover Takeover during Summerslam weekend?

For example, we could see John Cena vs. Samoa Joe, Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins, or even a match like Bayley vs. Nikki Bella. It’s a great idea and something that so many fans would like to see sooner rather than later. WWE could call the show NXT: Crossover.
